WHO WE ARE

The 100 Black Men of Metropolitan St. Louis is comprised of successful and committed African Americans in the St. Louis Metropolitan area coming together to make a difference in the lives of our youths.  We are “Real Men Giving Real Time.”

If you are interested in making a difference in our community and are willing to contribute your time and talents to the 100 Black Men of Metropolitan St. Louis, we would welcome the opportunity to consider your membership application.  After reviewing the membership process below and obtaining sponsorship from an active member, please complete the online membership application.

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP


​In addition to the primary benefits of having the opportunity to make a difference in the community and impact the life of a youth in a positive way, members of the 100 Black Men gain the following additional benefits:
  • Being a member of the 100 Black Men and doing volunteer work may meet your company expectations for community involvement. Some companies pay for their employees to join the organization.
  • You become a member of an organization that is known and respected nationally by major corporations.
  • Being a member of the St. Louis Metropolitan Chapter gives you access to other members nationwide.
  • The opportunity to network with other successful African Americans who come from diverse industries, but come together around a common goal.
  • Participation in social events that provide exposure and key information from prominent corporate and political leaders.
  • Potential to gain access to various corporations through work on fundraising and volunteer activities.

EXPECTATION OF MEMBERSHIP


​As a member of the 100 Black Men of Metropolitan St. Louis, it is expected of all members to:
  • Contribute your time, resources and talents for the benefit and advancement of our organization and its mission.
  • Serve on committees that will continue and further promote the ideas and vision of the organization.
  • Participate in our mentoring efforts, and assist the organization as it strives to expand.
  • Participate in our other programs as we seek to effect positive change in our community.
  • Attend our regularly scheduled membership meetings for reports on current programs and notices for future events and initatives.
  • Pay all annual dues and support our fundraising efforts, such that we can implement and support the programs of the organization.

TIMELINE FOR PROCESS

Step 1

The Informational

We will conduct an  informational meeting for those interested in finding out more about our organization. You will get to meet and talk with current members. Learn about our history, mission and vision,
and our impact here in the St. Louis community.​  

​NOTE: It is advisable to bring a copy of your résumé or CV to this meeting.

Step 2

​The Application

Click the link below to fill out the online application for membership.  This can be filled out at anytime and will be kept on file until the next intake session.  There is no obligation.  If you decide not to move forward, your application will be deleted.

NOTE: There is a non-refundable $50 application fee.  Also, sponsorship by an active member of the 100 Black Men is required.

Step 3

Résumé​ and Letters of Recommedation

Submit a copy of your résumé or CV, and letters of recommendation.  You will need 2 letters of recommendation, with at least one from an active member of the 100 Black Men.

Step 4

Individual and Group Interviews

After preliminary review of your application and information, you may or may not be granted an intake interview.  Should you be granted an interview, one will be scheduled with the induction team.  It will be from that interview that the final decision will be made for induction into our organization.  At that point, your respective dues payment will be collected (see below for annual dues requirement).
